Full Anagrams vs. Bonus Words — What's the Difference?
A true anagram uses every single letter you entered, exactly once, with nothing left over. If you enter 7 letters, a full anagram is a 7-letter word built from precisely those letters rearranged.
But not every set of letters forms a full anagram — sometimes no single word uses all of them. That’s why this tool also shows a bonus section of shorter words made from some of your letters, so you’re never left with an empty page. This second section works the same way as our Word Unscrambler, which is built specifically for finding words from a subset of your letters rather than requiring an exact match. If you’re looking for shorter-word options first rather than full anagrams, that tool might be the faster fit.
